And the next question is: is the original Essiac formula really better? And by the original formula, we mean the original four herb formula. And the answer is no. Essentially, Essiac tea was later developed into an advanced formula that had the original four herbs as its core and four additional herbs added to it through eight years of research to make it even more effective. Now, this book, The Essiac Report, has all the pictures, all the documents you need to see the entire history of what happened. That original formula was brought in to be researched, in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1959, and from 1959 to 1967, they established not only how well the original formula worked, but they combined that with other herbs called potentiators to see if they could improve upon it. Now, there were 18 physicians doing this work and at the end of eight years of research, they found a formula that was so consistent that that, in the end, is what Rene Caisse ended up using for the rest of her life: the eight herb advanced formula. Hopefully you realize that 'original' doesn't always imply what you think it would be, and that it's better. It simply isn't.
