Essiac Tea For Children: What You Need to Know
Essiac Can Be Given to Children. Just Be Sure to Give Them the Appropriate Serving Size for Their Weight
SUMMARY
Some families choose to give Essiac tea to children. Because children vary greatly in size and nutritional needs, serving sizes should be adjusted according to body weight.
➡️ To order: Mini packets are great if you are only giving the tea to a child under 85 lb., while the Best Value Collection will be a better deal for you if the whole family is taking it.
Essiac Tea for Children: Serving Size Guidelines
Here is a guide to the Essiac Tea serving size for children. These guidelines come from Rene Caisse via Dr. Charles Brusch and their work together.
If your child weighs 15-35 lbs.,
USE 1 oz. of tea twice per day.
If your child weighs 35-55 lbs.,
USE 1 1/2 oz. of tea twice per day.
If your child weighs 55-85 lbs.,
USE 2 oz. of tea twice per day.
If your child weighs 85-110 lbs.,
USE 3 oz. of tea twice per day.
If your child weighs 110 lbs. or more,
USE 3 oz. of tea three times per day.
Potential Effects to Be Aware of
- Sometimes the child might experience loose stools when first using Essiac. This is a good thing as it is helping expel what should not be there in the digestive tract.
- However, if this effect is too uncomfortable, feel free to start with a smaller serving size and after a few days or a week gently increase to tolerance.
- This effect is normally short-lived and certainly should not be uncontrolled diarrhea - it is usually just an increased frequency in the need to use the bathroom.
