Okay. The first question is, how did we get the Essiac Tea formula? Well, that all started in 1986. That was the year that my mother's boyfriend went into, of all places, a fish market and mentioned to the man at the fish market that he had lost his mother a few months earlier to pancreatic cancer. As it turns out the man at this fish market was friends with Dr. Charles Brusch. Now, Dr. Brusch was President Kennedy's personal physician. He ran a research center in Cambridge, Massachusetts and that's the place where he worked alongside Rene Caisse for eight years to develop the original four herb Essiac Tea formula into an advanced eight herb formula. Now, when my mother's boyfriend came home and told everyone about the Essiac Tea, we told other people, and to our surprise, people went over to the fish market, tried it, and they started to get well. And that shocked us. We weren't expecting it to work as well as it did. So we kept telling people and they started telling more people as well. And eventually the people at the fish market were so inundated with people. They said, you know, "Could you guys help out and do this out of your home to help us out?" So we did for a while and that lasted for a while until that became unmanageable. And that's when my mother started a cancer support group that met at her restaurant once a month. And when a TV show in New Hampshire called the Cathy Burnham Show found out about this support group and the results they were having, they invited my mother and some of the people from the group on a panel and the audience, you know, to be interviewed. So we were excited. This is, by then, it was 1992. It was good to see Mom on TV, but we were so naive. We had no idea what was gonna happen next. And that was that 1500 people would call the station the next day and say they wanted this. Now, we were not a distributing, like, entity at all. We just had a small support group. So, we had to, almost in a panic, ask Dr. Brusch what to do next. So, he set us up with some larger equipment, taught us how to make this, he enlisted me to help him to, kind of, throw the herbs around and learn how to make it to satisfy that initial rush. And what we thought would be the initial rush and maybe die down, hasn't. We've done it ever since. We've done, I've done this and been around it for 36 years. It's been extraordinary to see what this has done for people. And I've loved being a part of this every step of the way.

Gina Paulhus, BA - Owner

Gina Paulhus lives in Haverhill MA and is the co-owner of Genuine Essiac alongside her husband Bryan Paulhus. She spearheads marketing and oversees customer service. Gina writes our newsletters and website and initiates outreach. She also serves as the CFO. Gina has been working with Essiac since 2005. She loves all things alternative health. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from UMass Lowell with a Minor in Business. She is also a two-time author of Mind Over Fatter and Change Your Weighs. Bryan Paulhus - Owner

Bryan Paulhus of Haverhill MA is the one who brought the Essiac formula to the company. He has been working with Essiac since 1985. Dominic Rovetto - VP of Operations

Dominic hails from Newmarket NH. He manages ordering raw material and the manufacturing process. He is also our shipping and inventory manager. Dominic provides phone support to customers. Dominic has been with us the longest, having started with Genuine Essiac back in 2006, making him a true Essiac Expert. Alan Mondragon - Product Production and Order Fulfillment

Alan is from Nashua NH. He is responsible for producing our bagged Essiac product. He also assists with order fulfillment and inventory management. Alan will rise to any challenge and produce the amount of product needed on any given week no matter what. He began working with us in 2019.

Leonel Mondragon - Educational Support Specialist

Leonel has a background in biological sciences and has experience in academic research. He is based in Argentina and has been part of the Genuine Essiac team since 2019.

In his role, Leonel assists with general product and educational inquiries and helps interpret publicly available information. He does not provide medical advice and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Customers should consult their licensed healthcare provider regarding personal health decisions.

He also assists with moderating the Genuine Essiac Users Facebook Group to help maintain a respectful and informative environment.

Michelle Corres - Office Assistant, Social Media Assistant

Michelle is from Haverhill MA. She takes care of printing orders, affiliate support and serves as our Spanish translator. Michelle also assists with our social media accounts including for our exceedingly popular Genuine Essiac Users Facebook Group as well as our Tiktok and Instagram accounts. She also spearheads customer service on email. Michelle has been a huge asset to our team in taking some of the workload off the rest of us, and we really appreciate her. Michelle came on board with Genuine Essiac in 2023.

Carmen Jasper, AA - Customer Service

Carmen is based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and joined the Genuine Essiac team in 2024. She assists customers with email and phone support and contributes to our blog and social media platforms.

Carmen holds an Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences from American River College. She helps moderate our Genuine Essiac Users Facebook Group and supports our Facebook and Instagram communities to ensure a respectful and informative environment.

Carmen also handles many backend admin tasks that keeps the company running smoothly.

Santo Ruiz, Product Production, Material Handler and Packager

Santo is from Haverhill MA. He is responsible for labeling our bagged Essiac product. He also assists with handling material, packaging product, inventory management and transporting inventory in our Company Van. Santo serves as our IT expert. He has been with Genuine Essiac since 2023, and he stepped up big when we were going viral and needed extra hands quickly.

Alex Ruiz, Product Production, Material Handler and Packager

Alex, also from Haverhill MA is responsible for labeling our bagged Essiac product. He also assists with handling material, inventory management, product photography and packaging product. Alex has been with Genuine Essiac since 2023, and he also stepped up big when we were going viral and needed extra hands quickly.

Bill Quinn, Product Packager and Groundskeeping

Bill Quinn is from East Kingston NH. He assists with fulfilling orders as well as groundskeeping of our headquarters. Bill is very talented and is always available with his carpentry services or handyman skills whenever we need something physical done for our workplace. He also takes care of keeping our facilities cleaned of waste that is generated during the production process.

Ben Towler, Transportation Specialist

Ben is from Salem NH. He helps us transport freshly mixed herbs to the facilities where the herbs are packaged. He also assists with inventory management and preparing orders for shipment. Ben was added to our team in 2025.

Alan Tyndall, Phone Agent

Alan is from Hillsborough, North Carolina. He joined our team in 2025 after becoming exposed to Essiac and expressing great interest in the company and how he could help out. He has taken a role with phone support as we soon realized that his personality is perfect for the job. Alan on the phone most Saturdays and also helps out during the week. You will enjoy his friendly spirit when you call in and are lucky enough to get him!

Roland Richardson, Fulfillment Team Lead

Roland joined us in 2026. He assists our VP of Operations and plays an integral role in ensuring your receive your order in a timely and accurate manner. Roland also assists with packaging.

Our Helpful Facebook Elf, Who Prefers to Remain Anonymous

Our helpful Facebook elf handles a lot of our inquries on Facebook and Instagram, in particular in our Genuine Essiac Users Group. She is always coming up with new ideas that benefit our company. We don't know what we would do without her!
