Traveling? Learn How to Brew a Single Serving of Essiac Tea
We don't recommend brewing a single serving of essiac tea unless you absolutely need to.
Reason being, you're going to miss out on the steeping process which involves leaving the essiac herbs in the brewed tea for 12 hours. That process is important to maximize effectiveness.
However, if you are traveling and don't have access to a refrigerator to store the brewed tea, you may be forced to brew a single serving of essiac tea. In that case, preparing essiac is this manner is far better than not taking essiac at all.
Also, please keep in mind that if you do have access to a refrigerator but the issue is just that you will be away from the refrigerator during the day, you can always prepare essiac the traditional way and bring a serving along with you in a thermos with a few ice cubes.
How to Brew a Single Serving of Essiac Tea
To prepare a 3-oz. serving you will use 2/3 of 1 tsp. of herbs.
- Boil 3 oz. of water (you can use a coffee maker if that's all you have) and add the 2/3 tsp. of essiac.
- Let that steep for 10 minutes.
- Drink the tea once it's cooled, herbs included (you may stir the cup before consuming your serving to disperse the herbs).
To prepare a 9-oz. serving (enough for entire the day), use 2 tsp. of herbs.
- Boil 9 oz. of water and add the 2 tsp. of essiac.
- Let that steep for 10 minutes.
- Consume your servings throughout the day, making sure there are some herbs in each and every serving size.
- The unused portion doesn't need to be refrigerated as long as it's consumed the same 24 hour period you brewed it.
Once again, only use this method while traveling. It's not the best way to prepare and consume essiac tea.
