Learn why our essiac has a 3 oz. serving size when many other brands have a 2 oz. serving size
You're Not Missing Out on Any of the Benefits of 4 Herb Essiac When You Choose 8 Herb Essiac
A lot of the brands of essiac tea out there call for a 2 oz. suggested serving size, however you will see that we have a 3 oz. suggested serving size listed. Why is that?
The reason is that the other brands you're seeing are 4 herb formulas, whereas ours is an 8 herb formula.

The 4 herb formula is the one that Rene Caisse used before she conducted her research at the Brusch Medical Research Center from 1959 through 1967. She and Dr. Charles Brusch, who was also President Kennedy's physican, conducted research on essiac tea and determined that they preferred the 8 herb formula.
The 8 herb formula is made up of the original 4 essiac herbs, plus 4 additional herbs. The original 4 herbs were: burdock root, sheep sorrel, slippery elm bark and turkish rhubarb root. Rene Caisse and Dr. Charles Brusch added these 4 additional herbs: blessed thistle, kelp, red clover and watercress.
The suggested serving size of 4 herb essiac is 2 oz. because there are fewer herbs in that formula. In order to preserve the original ratios of the 4 herbs but also have room for the 4 additional herbs, there is another 1 oz. of tea that is the suggested serving size for the 8 herb formula.
I hope that helps clarify the discrepany in serving size for various essiac tea formulas!

Hi George,
Thanks for your comment. We are providing the same formula as Rene Caisse. Since the 4 herb formula worked pretty well, she chose to keep the amount of those herbs the same. The extra 1 oz. contains the additional four herbs. I hope that helps clarify.

Hi Pat,
How wonderful!!! We are so happy to hear how he is doing these days.
well why wouldn’t you increase the ratio of the original 4 along with the other4
to keep it at 2 oz? that can’t be that hard. I’m not getting it?
Thank you for all your information. My husband has been using your essiac tea going on 4 years now. He goes back July the 5th to see his cancer doctor which I know we will get another good report. He has not had any more new tumors in since the day he started on your tea. We continue to do the 3oz daily and will as long as we need to. Thank you for such a wonderful product he has been a blessing to my husband.
